Match Report – 9th May 2010

Last weekend we played away at Eastern Lions, on a pitch made for playing football. For the first time this season I had a full squad to pick from, and was feeling a little confident we might get a result, sadly to say we did’nt win but we did score our first two goals for the season. We started the game well but after about ten minutes we went 1 down and the heads went down, we just have to believe in each other as a team and we will get better results. With Riley Scoring just before half time and Jeremy scoring in the second half we showed we can score goals if we work hard enough. My player for the day was Jeremy who scored a great individual goal. Coach Doug

Match Report – 2nd May 2010

Last weekend we played a very good side in Oakleigh, a team that showed us where we have to aim for, if we want to compete in the league.I hope all who played on Sunday took something away from the game, even if it was just the thought of what as individuals we could do better the next time we play. We must all concentrate at training and try to do the drill’s to the best of our ability, we have now put on an extra training session on monday night’s to try and get us moving in the right direction, as far as passing, dribbling and striking the ball is concerned. My player for the weekend is William, who although hurt came back on to help his team. Coach Doug

Match Report – 25th April 2010

Our opponents on the weekend were Ringwood, a team that has played together for the last 3 years, so to our teams credit they battled hard and showed some good improvement on the previous week. The results are not what it’s all about at the moment, as long as we show improvement individually, and try your best, we will start to score goals and win games. On the weekend we were in the other teams half for quite a bit of the game, but with their goalkeeper being very confident, and coming well out of his area to get the through ball, it was always going to be hard to get a good clear strike at goal. A big thanks to the players who helped out by playing two games on the weekend. Player for the day is Tyler Blanchard who ran and tackled all the way to the final whistle.

Match Report – 18th April 2010

Last weekend was our first game for the year, against a well organised team in Knox Utd. It was always going to be an interesting day as both players and coach were working together for the first time, and it was. Although we lost, I believe there is a lot of potential in the team, and none of the players should hang their heads low, as we will get better with hard work and paying attention at training. My player for the day was Jordan Cogger, who played in goal for the first time, and listened to what he was been told and made some great saves. Coach Doug
